why use paint protection film?
Paint protection film is the most innovative and effective way to protect your paint from stone chips, abrasions and environmental damage. As such, it provides a great looking glossy and durable protective barrier that won’t alter the vehicle’s appearance, to keep it looking as good as new!
what does it protect from?
Protection is provided from scratches, scuffs and minor damage, as well as environmental damage, bugs and bird droppings
why is it an ‘investment’?
When you come to resell the vehicle, the paintwork underneath the film will be as good as the day it was installed, so should command a higher resale price than a vehicle that has no paint protection
when is the best time to get paint protection?
Ideally within 6 months of purchasing the vehicle. Prevention is better than cure, so the sooner the better!
does it matter if it’s fitted in summer or winter?
No, different times of year have different paintwork damage risks (loose chippings, bugs etc) and the material is fitted in a clean room environment, so installation is suitable year-round
what do I need to do prior to installation?
As long as the vehicle is clean, nothing! The approved installer will fully clean and prep the surface ready for installation for you
is the film cut to shape on the vehicle?
No, we have a dedicated template technician who makes pattern designs for most models of car and bike from 2000 onwards. These are then plotter-cut on-site ready to fit your particular make and model
how long does installation take?
Generally speaking, for vehicles you should allow a day, depending on complexity. In most cases we can offer same-day or while-you-wait services
how do I look after the film? Is anything special needed?
Essentially, treat it like you would treat your paintwork (by regular washing and the occasional wax!). We recommend using 3M Performance Finish wax on the vehicle to make subsequent cleaning easier
how long does the film last?
If it doesn’t get too damaged (if you scrape the vehicle the film may get damaged but your paint should be fine underneath), and is cared for, it should easily last for years. If need be, film can be removed and a new part fitted without having to buy a full kit
can I remove it? Does it leave a residue or remove the paint?
Yes you can remove it and it won’t leave a residue. If the paintwork was original when fitted, it won’t remove that either (poorly cured resprays are more vulnerable, so always consult the dealer if this is the case)
